I am Chief Executive of online news distribution and monitoring company, RealWire Limited (formerly webitpr). I helped start the company with a then teenage Jonathan Dolby in 2000. Having been involved with the company in a relatively non executive capacity from the start I took on my executive role in May 2006. RealWire has specialised in online news distribution since its inception in 2000 and works on behalf of PR agency and corporate clients predominantly in the UK and Europe. We were the first UK distribution company to introduce the Social Media News Release – a new kind of press release to cater for the online media world.
In my past I have spent nine great years working at PricewaterhouseCoopers in various roles and was Managing Director of an IT services company, SCS Technology Solutions Limited.
I am a Chartered Accountant by training and as such I still find it (pleasantly) surprising that I am now regularly asked to speak about online communications and the online media world. Perhaps those Monty Python guys weren’t completely on the money!
I live in Newcastle upon Tyne, in the north east of England. I am happily married with one young daughter and a mad dog and cat.
